GPS Perimeter Systems Ltd is a supplier of high security intruder detection products for external applications. The company has over 30 years of world-wide experience in the perimeter security sector providing systems for prisons, nuclear and other power generation plants, oil and gas distributors, historical sites, VIP residential and many more.

The range of products we supply is diverse enough to ensure that we have a cost effective solution to virtually any high risk perimeter.

This range includes various types of buried detection systems, fence-mounted and taut wire systems, and free standing detectors such as microwave barriers and infrared barriers.

Buried Intruder Detection

Buried Intruder DetectionThe main benefit of buried intrusion detection systems is the fact that they are invisible and are therefore difficult to defeat. We have different technologies to suit different sites using differential pressure and radio frequency techniques to match virtually any terrain and perimeter configuration. Programmable zones, low maintenance and precise detection mean that these systems can provide high levels of security but remain covert. In some applications two systems are combined to create an extremely stable, sensitive external perimeter detection system for the highest security sites.

Fence Sensors

Fence sensors are intruder systems designed for the detection of people attempting to cut through or climb over new or existing fences. We can provide systems based on specially constructed cables, either fibre-optic or co-axial, which detect disturbances in the fence structure caused by such attempts.

Suitable for most types and sizes of metallic fences, such as chain-link, welded mesh and palisade, these systems can also provide a cost effective solution for protection of pipelines and building structures. The choice of fibre-optic or co-axial will depend on factors such as system length, number of identifiable zones and site layout.

Microwave Security Sensors

Microwave Security SensorsMicrowave sensors or barriers use a transmitter and a receiver to create a sensitive zone in the line of sight between them. The transmitter emits a modulated microwave signal which is detected and monitored for changes by the receiver. Any attempt to walk, crawl, run, or jump between the transmitter and receiver by a potential intruder will create changes in the received signal. With units able to protect distances from 15m to 500m, microwave sensors provide cost effective detection on long, straight perimeter boundaries. New digital signal processing ensures accurate detection and rapid deployment systems for temporary installations are also available.

Infrared Barriers (IR Barriers)

Infrared barriers use a transmitter to send a beam of invisible infrared light to a receiver, which monitors the received signal and can detect changes in the signal caused by attempts to pass through the beam. Multiple beams can be mounted inside special columns to provide an invisible wall of detection around the perimeter. With single zones of up to 250m, dependent on model, infrared is particularly useful where the area to be protected is very narrow. Built in synchronisation, visibility detection and alignment tools mean that these systems provide the highest levels of security and reliability.

Taut Wire Fences

Taut Wire FencesThese systems use an array of sensitive or non-sensitive wires stretched along the perimeter, either attached to an existing fence or creating their own physical barrier, which can detect movements caused when they are forced apart, displaced or cut. The fact that the wires are held tight gives Taut Wire fences their name.

The systems can be configured to almost any height, length and site layout, using either the sensitive wire or a non-sensitive wire with a switch assembly. They are extremely stable and ideal for hostile environments where bad weather may be a factor.
