Crisbag® Baggage Handling Systems
CrisBag is a unique, fully integrated tote-based system combining sortation, early baggage storage and point-to-point transportation in one system.
The basic principle of the CrisBag system is to load each bag into a dedicated transport tote as soon as it enters the system. Keeping the baggage in the tote until it is discharged from the system ensures gentle handling and accurate tracking throughout the system.
At check-in, the bag's IATA bar code data is merged with the tote's RFID information to create a complete end-to-end track-and-trace system. Due to a special design, the tote allows efficient screening and gentle transportation of all baggage types, shapes and sizes.
Crisplant Identification Unit
The Crisplant RFID unit for baggage handling systems is the next step in the RFID product development process to minimise the number of short-shipped baggage and manual baggage handling costs.
This plug-and-play integrated RFID and barcode solution featuring the highest layout flexibility and reduced installation and commissioning time. The RFID unit allows a high read rate - even when tags are placed in difficult positions. The solution also offers an improved track-and-trace technology, which can help reduce airport’s lost baggage costs. With the use of the RFID unit for baggage sortation, airports improve the effectiveness, efficiency and security in baggage operations inside the terminals.
Emulation and Simulation
Airport baggage handling projects are submitted to multi-stage testing.
System simulation and emulation is used as part of these tests to verify the software and hardware upon completion of the system design and software coding.
Crisplant has developed a SW tool to generate emulation from the project specific 3D AutoCAD drawings of the baggage handling system.
Emulation link the actual hardware and the controls software to a computer model running the actions and initiating the I/Os and telegram flow in real time. This process ensures that the upper and low level software is fully tested before shipment to the airport site. Using emulation to test the system early in the project, minimises valuable project site time and reduces costs.
