People Centered Design

CPH Design, a Copenhagen based design consultancy, uses people centered design to conceive innovative products and services that are meaningful and valuable to the people who will use them.

For example, the design of a new baggage-handling concept for SAS Ground Service (SGS) and Copenhagen Airport (CPHA) did not begin on a drawing board, but with designers experiencing handling for themselves. The result was RampMate, the world’s first fully automated aviation baggage system. Based on an original concept from CPH Design, the entire system is marketed by Crisplant.

Airport Design Consultants

Based on a philosophy of examining the “in-between” areas of vulnerability in industrial systems, CPH Design act as airport design consultants and work to improve efficiency, productivity, flow, and working environment in Airports.

Security Lane, for example, is a supplementary system that speeds the flow of passengers through airport security. An easy-to-implement solution, it can be applied immediately and does not require an overhaul of the systems that are already in place.

As a winner of the prestigious Danish Design Award, CPH Design takes pride in the fusion of function and aesthetics and gladly undertakes form-giving and interior design projects such as furniture and restaurant interiors.

Airport and Aviation Services

By considering the whole service chain associated with handling glass, CPH Design created a glass holder that facilitated a new process for glass handling. This reduced purchasing of new glass holders by 90 percent and glassware by half.

SAS, who commissioned the project, repaid their investment within 6 months.
