Bomb Threat At Los Angeles AirportA man was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday after making a bomb threat.

Authorities say the man, later identified as 27-year old Scott Juhun Lee, approached a police officer outside the airport's Terminal 3, before dropping a backpack at his feet and making threats to blow up his bag.

Airport policeman Sgt Jim Holcomb told news reporters: "He said, 'I'm a terrorist, I've got a bomb in the bag and I'm going to blow it up now'".

Holcomb said a police bomb squad, scrambled to respond to the incident, fired a water cannon at the bag, which did not explode.

False Bomb Threat At LAX

Authorities subsequently checked Lee and his backpack. No explosives were found.

Lee was arrested, and detained on account of making a false bomb threat.

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said the man could possibly face psychologicial evaluation.

LA Bomb Threat Disruption

The incident caused temporary delays at Los Angeles International (LAX).

Roads approaching Terminal 3 were closed and some flights grounded whilst the incident was investigated.

No travellers were evacuated from the terminal buiding.
