MIL-STD-1553, STANAG 3838, STANAG 3910, Shuttle Bus Test and Simulation Equipment

Western Avionics provides databus simulation, test and analysis systems for all MIL-STD-1553 (STANAG 3838), STANAG3910 and Space Shuttle Bus applications. These products are manufactured as card level products for VXI, VME, VME/VSB, ISA, PCI, cPCI, PMC and M-Module platforms. Extensive software support is provided for all products.

MIL-STD-1553 / STANAG 3838 Products

Western Avionics provide a complete 1553 full function intelligent interface product range, programmable for 1553A and/or 1553B, with comprehensive BC, Multiple RT, with Passive Bus Monitor, and independent Chronological Bus Monitor capability. A proven hardware core design and software library is used by all card products.

1553 interface is dual redundant, with full error injection and detection capability. A minimum of 2M bytes of dual port functional RAM is provided.

Main BC features include programmable amplitude, inter-message delay, RT response time, frame frequency and message sequencing, with Acyclic message insertion and both message and data modifiable in real-time. BC-RT, RT-BC, RT-RT, mode code and broadcast are supported, with full error injection and detection. RT features allow for simulation of 32 RT's, all sub-addresses being selectable. Programmable mode code sub-address, status word and RT response time are provided, with message time tagging to 500 nsec resolution. All active RT tables are changeable in real time, as are Data and Status words.

Passive Bus Monitor mode allows all data buffers to be monitored with data time tagged to 10usec resolution, with this data made available for analysis.

Chronological Bus Monitor provides programmable conditional triggers and masks for data capture with message time tagging to 500 nsec resolution, with store all, store only or store after modes.

STANAG 3910 Products

Western Avionics supply the Eurofighter Optical HS bus implementation, with Rafale Electrical HS bus implementation, and the STANAG 3838 LS bus, on all its 3910 card based products.

Units are fully compliant with all Eurofighter and Rafale specifications for BC, Multiple RT and Bus monitoring requirements, and are capable of performing the complete RT Validation Test Plan at protocol level. Extensive error injection / detection capability is provided on all 3910 units.

Space Shuttle Bus Products

Launch Data Bus, Ground Data Bus, and Multiplex De-Multiplex products are produced in VME, PCI and PCM formats, with MDM SIO units being available in PCM. VME and PCI units provide for LDB_BCT, LDB_MRT, BUS_MON, GDB_BCT, GDB_MRT, and MDM_MRT modes of operation on a single card. Full IRIG-B timing and decoding capability is provided as standard, with comprehensive trigger in and trigger out features.

Software Support

C driver library, in source code, is provided for all 1553, 3838 and 3910 units, except message based VXI.

LabWindows/CVI 'plug&play' drivers, with full source code, are provided for all VXI message and register based 1553, 3838 and 3910 products.

Windows GUI is supplied with all ISA, PCI, and cPCI products.

RT Validation Test Plan library is available for all 1553, 3838 and 3910 VME, VME/VSB and ISA based platforms.
