Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH (RLS) represents the Land Systems business division within the Rheinmetall Defence group of companies. Rheinmetall Landsysteme special-izes in the development and production of armoured tracked and wheeled vehicles, as well as turret systems and weapon stations, and has delivered more than 14,000 ar-moured vehicles and sub-systems to customers in 36 countries.

Air Start Units MSU 200/400
Rheinmetall Landsysteme supplies the most powerful gas turbine driven ASUs world-wide. The powerful output of the MSU 200 and MSU 400 models covers the demand of all aircraft up to Boing 777 and Boing A380. The heart of the unit is a gas turbine power head manufactured by Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems. The company has devel-oped all other major components including the gearbox, FADEC and the fuel control.

Rheinmetall Landsysteme’s APUs meet all customer requirements for professional ramp operation. The MSU 200/400 is more powerful than other ASUs (204 ppm at 56 psia and 408 ppm at 56 psia), of robust design, environmentally friendly, and easy to operate, service and maintain.

All field units have proven their function and reliability as back-up starters for aircraft main engines and as a power source for the onboard air packs. Unlimited full power op-eration of an aircraft’s air conditioning system is possible.

Under various conditions, and during various missions, Rheinmetall Landsysteme’s ASUs have proven their versatility at airports worldwide.

More than 500 are in service in nearly 30 countries on five continents.
