PassCheck Maxi 3G People Counting System

Hardware in the form of sensors together with local Data Loggers (controllers) at each entry point (an entry point can be an external entrance to the facility or an internal entrance between different parts within the facility). We use the best type of sensors depending on the type of entrance; these can be Thermal Camera systems, Beam Sensors or other types that provide the accuracy needed for your entrances. All entry points are bound together to one system, the Software System, through a Network connected to a central computer where the AutoMaxi application program is running.

PassCheck 3G platforms allows web-based reporting solutions which includes automated email reports of visitor flow counting, plus floor plan visualization and graphic flow analysis. Users can, therefore, access the data they need from anywhere there is internet connection.

A PassCheck 3G system consists of base software that reads and saves data from the entrances (passages) into a SQL-database. From this a number of different reports and visualizations may be generated, as described below.

Applications PassCheck Maxi/3G People Counting System

PassCheck 3G application uses a number of subprograms for reporting and visualization of the people flow and occupancy in different areas (zones). The programs used are:

• AutoMaxi - the system kernel. Handle data collection, configuration and administration of the PassCheck system.
• MaxiWebAdmin - administers the WebReporting tools. Web based tool to set up system parameters such as name on entrance, create zones and create categories. The system administrator can also set up recipients of automatic emails (address and automatic report).
• MaxiCrystal (WebReport) - setup, administer and generate reports direct to your web browser. Enables setup and generation of favourite reports for automatic email delivery to selected users.
• MaxiGraph - generates graphical trends over the people flow or occupancy. Lets the user analyze the people flow and zoom in on the trend or compare the flow in different passages in order to track customer behaviour.
• MaxiVis - graphical online presentation of occupancy and people flow on a floorplan. Let the user get a quick overview of the online status with last minute, last hour and today's visitor figures. Administer and sends alerts via SMS or email when the flow or occupancy exceeds predefined levels.

MaxiReport - Advanced reporting and analyzing tool using Microsoft Excel. Lets the user do deep analysis of the counting figures and work with visitor forecast comparisons.

These programs run on the PassCheck server. MaxiReport may run on any computers connected in the same network as the server.

People Counting System Components

Based on the strong experience Actron have in Industrial Automation we have selected technologies and components that are more secure and reliable than components from Office Automation. A good example of this the use of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) in the Data Loggers.

Sensors - MaxiTherm

The PassCheck MaxiTherm is a thermal array camera based people counting sensor family applicable to a wide variety of People counting applications.

The MaxiTherm sees people as 'Hot Blobs'. It's sees the temperature differences between person & background. People may be hotter or colder than the background. If hotter they appear white, if colder they are black. A person who stops will fade from view. When they move they will be detected again.
Temperature Sensitivity about 0.5°C and the fade away take about 10 seconds. People are actually 'tracked' through the scene and their size, path, direction and speed are all used in the counting process.

Data Loggers

The key elements and the main strengths of the PassCheck Systems is the Data Logger - MaxiBase.

The MaxiBase is a device that controls the reading and storage of the passage of people detected by the sensors. The internal software includes functions and algorithms to ensure a proper and secure counting of people.

The MaxiBase handles an internal storage of online data from the connected entrances and storage of historical data. The online data is stored as minute, hour and day data. The historical data is stored each hour and depending on system configuration can keep the data up to maximum of 60 days.

The basic unit in the MaxiBase is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). PLC's are commonly used in the production environments for their reliability and robust nature. Because PLCs do not use a hard disc and contain no moving parts, they can work for years without any service requirements.
