Automatic People Counting
The Eurotech PCN-1001 People Counter is a compact and autonomous device that combines advanced detection algorithms with non-contact stereoscopic vision technology. Reliable and accurate automatic people counting is possible in all public transportation vehicles, terminals, depots and other buildings. It can also be used to count people as they enter or leave buildings or any other area with restricted access.
People Counter
The People Counter can easily be mounted above doorways, its shape allows for unobtrusive installation into the ceiling structure, becoming almost invisible. Due to its adjustable optical front panel, the PCN-1001 can be installed on non-horizontal surfaces or in locations not directly above the door. Accurate detection is possible in all lighting conditions, even in complete darkness. The built in high-luminosity infrared LED unit is used together with the stereoscopic cameras during detection. Bi-directional movement of people through a doorway is interpreted as ingoing and outgoing passengers, resulting in an accurate count with low accumulating error. Counter data can be stored together with date and time data to assist in statistical post-analysis.
Advanced People Counting Solutions
EuroTech continually develop the most advanced people counting solutions. Multi-sensor installations are possible in wide doorways using the RS-485 serial multi-drop communication channel. Overlapping and active zones are divided to create a wide detection area using multiple parallel sensors. Integrated digital I/O signals can be used to interface the PCN-1001 to vehicle systems, doors or other control devices.
The PCN-1001 is enclosed in a solid IP65 protection class sealed magnesium enclosure with locking automotive-grade connectors. The PCN-1001 is fully compliant with the requirements of EN51055 T1 and ECE/ONU Reg. 10 environmental standards. The rugged construction and wide operating temperature of the PCN-1001 makes it an ideal choice for all installations ranging from tropical to arctic conditions.
Set-up, reconfiguration and maintenance are simple thanks to the easily accessible debugging and service interfaces available under a protective cover on the optical panel.
