Aviation Risk Assessments

We have been working in the field of aviation related third party risk assessment for almost 20 years and been responsible for significant innovative work in the UK relating to both third party risk modelling and to related land-use planning and risk management policy issues.

Airport and ATM Safety and Risk Management

We carry out a wide range of safety and risk management projects on behalf of aviation clients around the world. We provide support from the early stages of a project, such as requirements specification, through to assessment of ‘as installed’ systems and the implementation of safety management systems.

Airport Design and Certification Support

ESR Technology offers independent airport design and certification support. Typically we operate on behalf of the airport authority and provide assistance to airport development projects throughout the design and construction process. Our activities include support with:

• Site selection by reviewing the site for ICAO compliance including safeguarding and aerodrome physical design characteristics
• Construction and build tender preparation
• Design and detail design evaluation for compliance with ICAO and local requirements
• Procurement of airport systems
• Operational concept and systems safety assessment
• Client supervision of the construction and commissioning activities
• Development of the aerodrome organisation, the associated practices and procedures including the Aerodrome Manual, Safety Manual
• Development of emergency and security plans including associated certification exercises
• Airport operations training
• Early operations

Airport Specialist Risk Assessments

ESR Technology has considerable experience of airport operational risk assessment and safety justification. That experience includes both the assessment of airside operations and flight operations in the Terminal Manoeuvring Area (TMA).

Independent Safety Assessments

Independent safety assessment for safety assurance is one of our core capabilities. This capability includes processes, technical systems, people and organisational assessments. As a demonstration of our commitment to the highest professional standards, one of our staff is a member of the Independent Safety Assessment Working Group of the Institution of Electrical Engineers that is developing professional standards and guidelines for independent assessors.
