General operational description of SNIFFEX®
The method of measurement is described in The United States Patent 6,344,818 and can be defined as detection of pre-initialized magnetic 
interference.
SNIFFEX® operates through the human body interface. SNIFFEX® contains a power source which "modulates" applied DC magnetic field. The antenna works as an integration device pointi ng the direction towards the object through detection of the line of interference.
Description of the method
SNIFFEX® creates in the surrounding one magnetic field with specific form. The device requires a relative movement in relation to the earth magnetic vector and more specifically to its vertical component.
While holding the device in his hand and moving, the operator creates the necessary relative movement. Even out of driving cars and helicopters, SNIFFEX is able to locate explosives.
The interaction between the dynamic magnetic structure created by SNIFFEX® and the vertical component of the earth magnetic vector establishes the necessary and sufficient conditions for the activity of the magnetic interference. If in the surrounding there is a presence of an object containing in its chemical structure -NO2 or -NO3 compounds the interference can be measured with the turning of the antenna which reacts as a "pointer" to the object.
The training for operating with the device, which takes approximately a few hours, is needed because there is a minimum requirement regarding knowledge, experience and principles for interpretation of the results from the operator. We will also adapt different detection methods to the different security needs of our customers in order to be prepared for realistic scenarios.
SNIFFEX® is a pocket-sized, hand held device for the detection of a wide variety of explosives including, but not limited, to TNT, dynamite, ammonite (+ diesel), PETN, RDX, gunpowder, Semtex, C4 based on its ability to detect the presence of Nitro Oxides (-NO2 or -NO3) within its effective range.
Most existing and emerging detection systems locate explosives only within a few inches to the explosive. Other existing products need to be close enough to inhale air around the explosive.
Unlike other devices SNIFFEX® can locate and find explosives from 2 - 100 meters (and more, depending on type and quantity of explosive 
material, even when the explosive is hidden in buildings or in vehicles even behind barriers like concrete walls and metal barriers. Therefore even large areas like parking lots or cargo areas can be searched in a very short time, which is impossible with all other devices. Unlike other devices SNIFFEX® does not require reference cards, which means that all detectable explosive can be found in one search-lap. In addition SNIFFEX can also operate out of cars or helicopters for perimeter search.
Once a possible target is identified, the sniffer dogs (K9 units), EOD 
specialists or bomb squads can do their job. In addition to explosives SNIFFEX® can detect buried landmines and hidden ammunition/ weapons, which perfectly complements its use in emerging markets. Thanks to SNIFFEX® even organizations or governments with small budgets for explosive detection can achieve higher security standards at a unique price/ value level.
