The upgrading involves hardware and software components and will concern the Area Control Centre, the Terminal Control Centre, the Simulator and the Workshop systems. Si ATM participated already in the original development and installation of the TERCAS system more than 20 years ago and has since then kept continuous links with MATCC being involved in upgrading and maintenance of the system. By this contract is further underlined Si ATM’s role as an important partner to MATCC.

MATCC provides services in Moscow Flight Information Region and at the four major airports in the Moscow area: Sheremetievo, Domodedovo, Bykovo and Vnukovo. The ATC system TERCAS, placed at Vnukovo airport, was delivered in the early 1980th by the Swedish company Datasaab and was at that time considered one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated systems. It has been partially upgraded over the years whereof Si ATM made a major upgrade 1994 - 1996. The system will remain operational for another number of years, since its replacement is not yet determined.

Si ATM’s experience in air traffic management is extensive, ranging from individual airport installations to nation-wide turnkey systems.
