EOD Equipment
Lightweight Modular EOD Response Pack
Designed and developed by a serving senior UK EOD Operator and rigorously tested in the Balkans, East and West Africa. Recently, the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq have ensured that this product will meet “real time” requirements of EOD teams deployed on hostile and demanding operations in harsh climatic conditions.
The two pack approach allows a typical two man EOD team to carry an EOD capability in addition to normal field equipment and enhances equipment sharing whilst providing essential product segregation, detonators and bulk charges. Additional equipment can be supplied to enhance capability for Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) threats.

‘Hawk’ Search Kit
Designed as a single backpack for use by two man search teams, ‘Hawk’ provides significant capability whilst minimising weight and bulk. Additional space is available in the backpack for teams to enhance with their own items of equipment.

General Search and EOD Equipment
A comprehensive range of search equipment – under vehicle trolley mirrors, interchangeable mirrors with fixed and telescopic handles (with or without illumination), endoscope search kits plus various combinations of search kits in fitted, foam lined, metal cases.
Four generations of Hook and Line EOD Kits are available, all manufactured to ISO9001 standard. Suitable for general and complex operations including applications to vehicles, including moving heavy devices and vehicles and moving suspect devices within buildings along complex routes.
Essential Search Kit
NEW Product developed in response to requirements identified by operational teams and honed by experience over time. The kit provides a crossover between the most used essential tools, specialist inspection equipment and accessories providing flexibility and efficiency in the search process.
Electronic Counter Measures
The ‘Centurion’ is a portable, lightweight unit suitable for deployment carried by robot or fixed within a vehicle where an unobtrusive, roof mounted fixed or magnetic aerial gives an effective jamming range of approximately 80 metres. Mounted in various types of 4WD vehicles, currently proving its effectiveness in Iraq against radio activated devices with the US Military and private security contractors. Newly available in high and low powered versions is the Centurion GSM, covering a wide range of GSM frequencies specifically designed to counter the increasing threat of devices initiated by this means.
Centurion ECM - A portable lightweight system which can be deployed in a backpack, on a robot or in a vehicle.
Also due to global threat changes, the Scimitar Mk 5 has been introduced with focus on meeting these challenges. The use of mobile phones as a means to remotely detonate a bomb has increased in the last year to be one of the most used methods of remote radio detonation of devices.

Explosive Search and EOD Training
Strings Security Limited provides a comprehensive range of explosive search and EOD courses with recognised qualification accreditation through an associate company.
The Qualifications:
Currently there are six N/SVQs each based on the National Occupational Standards designed with a Munition Search, Munition Clearance or Specified Target Search emphasis. The six qualifications include operational management, supervisory management and operator level. One further qualification is awaiting accreditation by CQA and others may follow in the future. Brief descriptions of the qualifications are as follows:
- Level 4 – Planning and Management of Munition Clearance Operations
- Level 3 – Supervisory Management of Munition Clearance and/or Search Operations
- Level 3 – Search for and Disposal of Munitions
- Level 3 – Search for Munitions and/or Specified Targets
- Level 2 – Contribute to the Search and/or Disposal Function
- Level 1 – Provide Support for Search or Munition Clearance Operations
