OBSTA cold neon discharge obstruction lighting system for use on chimneys, radio towers and air traffic control towers.
OBSTA cold neon discharge HISTI & STI is designed for denoting obstacles like chimneys, radio towers, air traffic control, lighting masts.
Applications of OBSTA Neon Discharge Obstruction Lighting
The OBSTA cold neon discharge lights are red fixed obstruction light low intensity type A or B following ICAO definition, and L810 red fixed obstruction light following FAA definition.
The principle of cold neon discharge offers:
- Inherent generation of the «aviation» red,
- robustness and long lifetime,
- excellent luminous intensity,
- and compared to led light, a constant luminous intensity output whatever is ambient temperature.
OBSTA HISTI and STI Obstruction Lighting
The OBSTA HISTI and STI are one piece moulded assembly which includes a constant-power converter and the proper discharge lamp (13 turns and 5 turns). This design ensures:
- perfect weatherproofing,
no requirement for a ground connection, which avoids any voltage return from the earth (for example due to lightning). The overall is thus considerably improved.
The OBSTA HISTI and STI include:
- a complete screening of the converter and the lamp to reduce
- electromagnetic interferences,
- a clear glass envelope,
- a constant-power converter,
- protection against transient over voltage,
- circuitry, in the event of failure, to trigger an alarm or light up an auxiliary lamp (if active redundancy circuits is used).
