Formerly known as Phi Laboratories, Precision Applications Ltd was formed in 1990 to manufacture IRIG Instrumentation Multi-Track recording heads. It was at this time that we first started our association with Thales (formerly Racal Recorders, Hythe), supplying all heads for the Storehorse Instrumentation Recorder. The company has developed an unrivalled reputation for quality and reliability.
In 1999 Thales offered us the opportunity of servicing Wordsafe/Maxima recorders on their behalf, a partnership which has proved extremely successful. During this period we have diversified further into small batch PCB assembly using surface mount and through-hole manufacturing techniques. We have cable forming manufacturing capabilities and precision machining facilities.
On the 1st of January 2002 we became a channel partner for Thales Contact Solutions, providing service and spares for ICR and Wordsafe/Maxima for the next 2 years and beyond. The availability of spares will be reviewed annually. If at any time during this period we feel that any item is approaching obsolescence we will notify all affected customer to ensure that we can fulfill their needs. If this requires a last time buy on our part we will be willing to carry this out hopefully with the support of those customers in the form of a commitment to purchase over the agreed timescale. In addition we are equipped to repair sub-assemblies as well as build and test new units. Our staff has received extensive training at Thales.
