Eyevis has developed narrow bezel TFT-LCD Screens for use in Airport and other commercial applications

A sign that a technology has matured is when it begins to move out of the consumer space and into the market for demanding commercial applications. Evidence of the growing maturity of LCD technology can be found in the eyevis product portfolio, where the company is having TFT-LCD screens for control room and other applications in the shape of the EYE-LCD4000M and EYE-LCD4600M.

According to the company, eyevis wanted to take advantage of the excellent display characteristics of TFT-LCD technology in applications such as control rooms, security centres, airports and traffic control- but a major drawback was found to be the wide bezels (of 30-45mm and more) which created unacceptable blank areas in an image formed from a number of tiled displays.

EYE-LCD4000MThe company therefore set out to design a range of displays based on TFT-LCD technology that would eliminate this problem - and the results can be seen on the eyevis stand. The EYE-LCD4000M features a 40" screen diagonal with a bezel of just 14mm, while the EYE-LCD4600M has a 46" diagonal screen and a bezel width of only 15mm. Both are available with resolutions of either 1,366 x 768 pixels additionally there is also the EYE-LCD5200M available in 52" and in full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels).

The displays are designed to be modular: up to 100 can be combined in a single large video wall, and features include a loop-through function, internal split controlling and picture-in-picture.

The displays are delivered with a stacking frame that allows for quick and easy mounting, enabling the user, says eyevis, to build high-performance video walls in almost any location and very quickly.
