SubscribeGuernsey Airport has confirmed an order for the purchase and installation of AIS’ AFIDS2001 system for the new terminal, which is due to open towards the end of 2003.
The system will link to the Airport’s ALDIS2000 management system and will be used for check-in, flight and baggage information plus web page uplifts to the official Guernsey Airport web site. The system includes plasma, LCD screens and colour monitors. These will be installed to display arrival, baggage carousel, check-in desk, departure, departure door and gate information.
Alan Bridle, Guernsey Airport’s Director commented, “ We believe the AIS system to be the best on the market having been tried and tested in the current terminal building. One of the benefits is the low cost of ownership. Monitor life has exceeded manufacturer’s MTBF figures by 50% with no discernable burning on the screens.” Rick Goold, AIS’ Managing Director commented, “ We are delighted to receive this order and see it as a positive indication that Guernsey Airport is a satisfied customer.”
