ATC 2005: A resounding success!

ATC 2005 attracted over 4,000 ATC/ATM professionals from around the world and proved once again that it is the premier industry event.

The number of people attending the event rose by 7% compared to the previous year. Whilst the majority of visitors still come from Europe, the number of non-European visitors continued to grow rapidly moving the event from its traditional European roots to the number 1 position in the global industry calendar.

The biggest increases in the number of visitors from outside Europe come from the Americas and Australasia and Pacific region. ATC Maastricht 2005 attracted visitors from 77 countries reaching all four corners of the world, from Iceland to South Africa and from Canada to New Zealand.

The quality of visitors was also exceptional: 14 % of visitors belong to senior management, 6% to general management while 20% are involved in engineering and 10% cite air traffic controller/officer as their job function. There was also 11% increase in attendance from the core audience of air navigation service providers.

More than 90% of the floor space was re-booked on site demonstrating clearly the confidence the exhibitors have in the show. Due to demand the organiser, CMP Information, are increasing the ATC Maastricht 2006 floor space by 10%.

The well-attended seminar programme, a leading conference and industry awards gala effectively complemented the exhibition and underlined the event’s position as the most comprehensive event for the ATC/ATM industry in the world.

With more exhibit space available, continued support from influential industry bodies and some exciting developments planned, the next year’s event is set to be even better.
