Magenta wins a contract to supply a new digital dynamic signage system for gasoline pumps in Michigan
Magenta Research, the leader in video, audio and serial signal distribution and switching over Cat5/5e/6 UTP cable, has won a significant contract associated with gasoline pump dynamic signage being deployed by Gas Station TV, based in Oak Park, Michigan.
Following extensive, comparison pilot testing at Murphy Oil locations in Dallas, Gas Station TV selected the approach utilizing Magenta's MultiView Series Cat5 transmitters, multi-port transmitters, distribution hubs and receivers. The equipment distributes computer video and audio signals over a single Cat5 cable to the gas pumps, where 20" high-definition, daylight-viewable LCD's entertain and inform customers while they fill up.
Four hundred stations are scheduled for dynamic signage installations by the end of 2006. Gas Station TV has contracted with ABC to provide content, such as "News You Can Use" segments, local news, weather and traffic updates.
Randy Young, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Magenta Research, commented: "This is an exciting project because of its anticipated reach and quality of the content. Magenta is very pleased that the MultiView Series was selected for the computer-based video and audio distribution from inside the store to the pump islands - distances that extend several hundred feet. We look forward to the rollout and working with Gas Station TV as a key technology supplier."
"The quality of service provided by Magenta has been stellar," said David Leider, CEO, Gas Station TV. "This project with Magenta ensures that GSTV will be delivering the best destination entertainment experience for the gas station customers during our critical launch."
