Delhi International Airport continues to adopt Scarecrow’s birdstrike avoidance technology as part of their birdstrike avoidance process.
First reported by Scarecrow in November 2006, the airport has since further strengthened its airside safety management procedure by purchasing additional systems. The airport is now actively using eight vehicle-based Scarecrow Premier 1500s with additional systems including the latest Ultima technology.
Airside Bird Management
Ultima is Scarecrow's next generation product, an impressive technical advance that has been receiving worldwide recognition since its launch last year. In response to constructive industry feedback and product development discussions, Scarecrow is wasting no time in further developing the Ultima technology to meet the ever-growing requirements of Airside Bird Management. Tougher legislation in respect of airport safety measures and standards has prompted airports globally to use comprehensive solutions and documented control. Airports working with Scarecrow find they have a partner who understands the airside safety challenges they face.
With burgeoning air traffic and over 20 million passengers each year, airside operators at Delhi International Airport firmly recognise the need to use a proven, high technology solution that will effectively combat the problem of nuisance birds. Scarecrow's Premier product has repeatedly proven itself at airports around the world and India is no exception.
Delhi International Airport is on its way to join the league of the most modern airports in the world with major development work well underway. The Indian capital's airport will boast a world-class infrastructure including a third runway and at 4430 metres long, it will be one of the longest runways in Asia. By 2010, aircraft movements and passenger traffic are estimated to grow, with 37 million people per year passing through the airport. Airside safety measures will never have been so essential in India.
