SLC Associates

SLC Associates was founded in July 1987 by the current Managing Director, Stephen L Card, to provide a high quality Land and Building Surveying service to the design sectors of the construction industry.

The Company established a reputation throughout the UK, undertaking contracts for several major Companies. The Company's success was, and remains, attributable to a firm commitment to quality.

In 1994, the Company's management decided to utilise the skills and experience of the workforce to offer a wider range of services in order to capitalise upon different market sectors. SLC Associates now provides, in addition to its Land and Building Surveys, other services including Geodetic and Local GPS Surveys, Aviation Support and Aerodrome Safeguarding, and GIS implementations.

In September 1997, SLC Associates were awarded ISO EN 9002 Accreditation under the QMS Scheme.

In April 2001, the Partnership of SLC Associates was incorportated as Geomatic Solutions Limited but maintained the very familiar trading name of SLC Associates

Topographic Surveys

Topographic surveys are carried out using a combination of GPS equipment and electronic total stations. There is no requirement to write anything while in the field and the data is transferred automatically to the PC or workstation where the data processing takes place before being presented in Autocad or Microstation.

SLC Associates have a department with a comprehensive range of aviation related skills dedicated to aviation support. Our specialists can be called upon to help solve matters from aerodrome development and licensing through to airspace design and instrument approach procedures.

Formed in 1987 to provide a high quality Land and Building Surveying service to the design sectors of the construction industry, SLC Associates now offer a full range of surveying and mapping services. In 1995, the then GPS department completed the first successful British WGS-84 Implementation and Aerodrome Facilities Survey at Jersey Airport.

Since then they have utilised their skills in geodetic surveying to assist over 90 UK licensed airports comply with ICAO directives on the use of WGS-84 as common datum for air navigation.

Internationally, SLC Associates have assisted IATA with their GNSS Implementation Scheme in Africa and NIMA with their RBAI Scheme resulting in successful WGS-84 Airfield Surveys at a further 30 airports overseas including airports in Montserrat, Seychelles, Mauritius, Cape Verde and Kosovo .
