In 2006 Net Display Systems has already delivered 8 projects in the aviation sector.
This shows once again NDS to be an important supplier of digital signage solutions for both airports and airlines.
Since the beginning of the year Net Display Systems has deployed software at Eindhoven airport in the Netherlands, Kano airport in Nigeria, the new Low Cost Airport Terminal in Kuala Lumpur, Podgorica airport in Montenegro, Pittburgh international airport and Albuquerque airport in the USA and the airlines Lufthansa in Germany and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in the Netherlands.
With a number of these projects like Podgorica airport, NDS has been responsible for the complete FIDS (Flight Information Display System) solution.
This includes displaying real-time arrivals and/or departures info on overview monitors, information displaying at the check-ins, gates, baggage belts, transfer desks, security areas and many other areas in the airport terminal building.
With the PADS software Net Display Systems offers a fully scalable solution that can be used worldwide by small, medium as well as large airports.
The versatility of the PADS software from NDS is that it is not only limited to displaying flight information. Using this very comprehensive and extremely flexble, standard digital signage product almost any possible content can be displayed. Some airport related examples are: display of flight information in combination with dynamically linked promotional clips about the destinations, advertisements, a ticker tape with the latest news live from the Internet or even a digital TV broadcast.
This has been put into practice for instance at Albuquerque airport where the system is being used for displaying visual paging messages. "When there are no visual paging messages to display, the monitor will display various type of items of local interest such as welcoming sports teams and distinguished visitors, airport events, emergency evacuation instructions and similar content."
This flexibility and the reputation of PADS also made Lufthansa and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines decide recently to choose PADS for their digital signage requirement.
