DATS Concept
We have developed and delivered simulators for Air Traffi c Control since 1994. Our efforts have resulted in a competent and mature system, DATS, Durable Aviation Trainer Solutions.
DATS product solutions for civil and military markets place the entire "content world of aviation" in a standard PC. The design philosophy of DATS, is to build an affordable system which is easy to maintain. Therefore we use standard PCs and COTS hardware in all positions in the system.
DATS software is based on our own proprietary simulator engine CATS. The engine provides functionality for simulators aimed at many different types of applications and is constantly under development.

Durable - DATS accepts producer independent hardware, Windows or Linux, open software architecture, userdriven functionality and HMI.
Aviation - DATS aims to cover the needs of the aviation sector: ATC, airport, air combat control, pilot procedures, all interacting in a common
simulation environment.
Trainer - DATS is a complete trainer and simulation system covering anything from basic theory to composite multi-discipline exercises.
Solutions - DATS is a complete solution, i.e. hardware, software, maintenance, personnel training, consultant support.

DATS Product Range
DATS, the customized ATC tower and radar simulator
DATS Tower is a simulator for training local and ground controllers in aerodrome control. DATS Radar is a simulator for area- as well as approach-control training.
DATSino, the turnkey ATC simulator
DATSino is a turnkey basic ATC Radar, procedure or Tower Simulator built on the DATS concept. DATSino is designed to be expandable in all respects and could be expanded all the way up to a large scale simulator system.
Since all functionality in DATS is inherited by DATSino, it has all the functionality you expect to find in a large simulator system. It also has the stability and maturity of a large simulator. Its small format makes it easy to install and also to move to new sites.

The Portable version of DATSino comes into an easy and handy laptop solution which can be hand carried by one person. Thus its small format, the functionality and features remains the same as for DATSino.

BAE Systems C-ITS has, apart from the Swedish domestic market, installed Air Traffic Control simulators in Russia, Lithuania, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Jordan and Ghana.
Swedavia Training
BAE Systems C-ITS work in close co-operation with Swedavia, a subsidiary of Luftfartsverket, The LFV Group - Swedish Airports and Air Naviagion Services. Swedavia can, on request, offer exercises that are the same as used at Swedavia (ICAO standard training package).
In addition to these generic courses Swedavia provides training customized to meet specific needs such as national airspace, procedures and methods.
Swedavia's primary purpose is to provide its clients with superbly trained air traffic control personnel. Other training, such as advanced ATC training and specialized training for all disciplines within the area of air navigation services, is also offered.

The teachers at Swedavia are experienced in one or more of the various fields of air traffic services. The vast majority have worked overseas and have had the opportunity to assimilate new ideas and ways of working, and, probably more important, they have learnt that there are other cultures and ways of doing things - an important lesson if you wish to avoid cultural clashes and get the best out of your students.
