The Lattix® Aviation System consists of frangible aluminium light masts with accessories. The Lattix masts are mainly used at airports, carrying approach lights, meteorological equipment, antennas etc.
The aluminum masts can be of triangular or square cross-sections. The choice of mast is dependant of the actual height and how much equipment which will be mounted on the mast.
Masts are described in two classes, Class 1 and 2.
Class 1 are masts for up to two lights and flashlight, crossbar < 2,8 m. Most masts for meteorological equipment, antennas etc will be class 1.
Class 2 are masts for up to 4 lights and flashlight, crossbar <5,5 m

Accessories for masts will typical consists of:
- Raising/lowering device (for mid-hinged masts)
- Combined adaptors for CL/Flash light or LI light
- Crossbars with light adaptors
- Fixing rails and clamps for electrical lockers
Masts with one section
Masts in one section are shipped fully assembled with base plate and top plate.
Masts with two sections
Masts with two sections are shipped fully assembled with base plate, hinge and top-plate. If the full length of the mast exceeds 7,5 m the mast will be delivered folded.
Masts with three sections
Masts with three sections might be delivered in 1, 2 or 3 pieces depending on the length of the transporting vehicle. The base-plate and top-plate will be mounted and the lower and upper part of the hinge is mounted on the two sections and must be connected by the stainless steel hinge-bolt which will be supplied. The connecting plate between the lower and middle mast will be mounted to one of them. Bolts for mounting the other mast section to the connecting plate are supplied. These bolts must be mounted with a torque of 35 Nm. The different parts forming one mast are marked with a unique identification number.
Lever arms
Lever arm is supplied to mid-hinged masts. Normally it is shipped mounted to the mast, but it might be supplied un-mounted. The lever arm is then laid inside the lower mast section.
The lever arm shall be bolted to the hinge and, when the mast is raised, be secured to the cradle welded to the lower mast section.
All necessary bolts (Stainless steel) will be provided.
X-Bars
X-bars are not mounted to the masts and are sent separately
NOTE: The X-Bars must be mounted to the correct masts. Refer to the documentation
A cradle is mounted on top of the masts, and the X-Bar shall be mounted in this cradle. The X-Bars shall be mounted symmetrically on the mast. Fixtures for Light-adaptors (next paragraph) are mounted on the X-Bar, and the X-bar must be turned to a position where the light-adaptors will be vertical when mounted.
X-bar supports
X bar supports shall be mounted when the X-bar is longer than 3 m. 4 supports are delivered to each long X-bar. On both sides of the X-bar a clamp with two holes are mounted, the 4 supports shall be fitted to these clamps. Two aluminum profiles shall be mounted to the mast and the supports shall be fitted between the clamps on the X-bar and the aluminum profile. The location of the aluminum profile is determined by the length of the supports.
Light adaptors
The light adaptors are aluminum tubes, Ø60 mm, length 700 mm. The light adaptor shall be mounted in the clamps mounted on the X-bar. They are easily adjusted to the correct height.
Flash adaptors
Flash adaptors are aluminum tubes, Ø60 mm, length 1000 mm. They are mounted in the vertical clamp on the top-plate of the mast.
