Oxford Airport installs Megadoor hangar doors.
Oxford airport is the region's primary general and business aviation airport and historically one of the busiest airfields in the United Kingdom, offering many different services.
Centered within the hub of the British motor racing industry, Oxford Airport plays a key part in transport and logistics for teams and drivers alike.
In particular, much of the F1 business is undertaken within a short distance from Oxford and the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit is only 26 miles away.

When a new hangar was recently built, the benefits of incorporating a Megadoor into the hangar design were obvious to the decision makers.

The opening was maximized in the design using the Megadoor solution to accommodate the largest business jet types and typical regional turboprops, whilst the use of Megadoors allowed an extra 1.25 metres of valuable usable hangar depth that would have been lost were the design to have used conventional sliding doors.
This particular 32 m wide and 9 m high Megadoor is split in two door leaves, separated by a swing-up column. With this solution it is possible to open up a 16 m or 32 m wide opening, depending upon the type of aircraft requiring access.
