British Airways Awards EMCOR with £69 Million Facilities Contract

EMCOR Facilities Services has had its facilities management contract with British Airways extended for a further 3 years.

The contract worth £69 million, follows EMCOR's recent appointment as strategic partner to British Airways responsible for managing and maintaining facilities for Terminal 5.

EMCOR has been providing facilities services to British Airways for the last 14 years, becoming an integral and trusted supplier through the provision of added value services which help BA meet both business and strategic objectives.

As principle contractor, EMCOR's new contract will cover nearly 800,000 square metres of facilities with a total property asset value of £700 million, including passenger lounges, industrial buildings, cargo centres, hangars and offices, as well as BA's 280 acre Waterside HQ in west London. EMCOR will also assist British Airways in the transition to Terminal 5 at Heathrow.

EMCOR's role will be wide-ranging, operating a total facilities management contract which manages critical systems directly affecting aircraft, through to asset management, energy efficiency, helpdesk operations, security, cleaning, reception desks, engineering maintenance and grounds maintenance.

EMCOR's selection by British Airways was made because of the company's commitment to a partnership approach in managing risk and its outstanding track record in driving down costs year-on-year over the last decade.

According to Andrew Brown, Director and General Manager of EMCOR's British Airways contract, the move is further evidence of EMCOR's growing reputation in the industry as a leading total facilities provider:
