Visitors to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will notice stunning visual changes in the new south terminal expansion.
The new wider, longer concourse has twice as many airline gates and features moving walkways, public meeting space, new restaurants and retail concessions. The arrivals hall features a 70-foot-high wall of glass. Amidst all of these changes are the latest digital signage products from Clarity Visual Systems.
Clarity displays used for flight information and announcements The renovated south terminal and new concourse now use innovative digital display technology to provide flight information and gate information in various departure, arrival and security areas. More than 350 of Clarity's 38-inch Leopard and 40-inch Wildcat AP/LCDTM rear-projection displays provide travelers with up-to-date information.

"Clarity products perform as advertised - bright, clear and reliable - and they have been extremely professional towork with."
LEW BARNUM, Senior Project Manager, Parson's Design
The Clarity monitors are in 38 locations throughout the new terminal. The Leopards above the international ticketing counters serve a dual purpose: Announcing flight information when the counters are manned, and displaying airline logos when the ticketing agents are not at the gate.
The elevated 2x5 Wildcat displays show flight information and will also be used also for incident announcements and visual paging. Clarity's superior technology makes installation a success
"We liked the rear-projection technology because of the size and flexibility," said Lew Barnum, senior project manager with Parson's Design, the firm hired by the Port of Seattle to manage the capital improvements. "And, compared to plasma, the lifecycle costs of the LCD rear-projection systems were superior to that technology." The Clarity displays use a lot less energy than the old CRT system and they also give us new and expanded flight informaton monitoring capability.
Clarity displays were specified as the standard by the Port of Seattle, which owns and operates Sea-Tac, for its multi-year capital improvement project that is integrating advanced technologies.
