Last year Sofia airport invested in Safedock® docking guidance systems and Safesign® airfield signs - all from Safegate. The SafeControl system will give the airfield tower air traffic controllers an easy to use tool for handling all the traffic operations safely. By using 23 inch, high resolution, LCD touch screens, the airfield operators and air traffic controllers can control and monitor all AFL related equipment such as CCRs, airfield lights and addressable light system from a single screen.
The addressable light system ASP will be used to monitor and control stop bars and lead on lights. Using the ASP addressable light system will minimise installation time and cost, but most importantly increase the operational availability.
Sofia Airport will also benefit from an interface to the MET system.
