Intelcan’s NATO- and ICAO-compliant MSSR and flexible ATM system provides flexible functionality and proven capability for aviation decision makers.
Intelcan, a leading global provider of Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems and airport infrastructure, has successfully commissioned its modern Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR) product at the Krumovo military airport in Bulgaria.
Intelcan recently provided the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence with a modernization solution for both the Graf Ignatievo and Krumovo military airports. The contract -- worth an undisclosed amount -- provides Bulgaria with monopulse secondary-, primary- and precision-approach radars; communication and ATM systems; and Navigation Aids (NAVAIDS).
"Intelcan's MSSR is a cost-effective, strategic investment for our civil and military aviation customers," said Mark Whittall, Intelcan Chairman and CEO. "MSSR improves airspace surveillance for those responsible for the air traffic safety of others. It packs state-of-the-art, field-proven, flexible capability and incorporates the high performance and reliability that our aviation customers demand."
Intelcan's MSSR is a fully integrated system that complies with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 10 requirements and is delivered in either stand-alone configuration or co-mounted with a primary surveillance radar.
The MSSR system requires minimal maintenance due to its solid-state technology, simple modular design, highly reliable commercial components, and robust software. It is also easy to upgrade existing older SSR systems using individual MSSR subsystems or to upgrade to Mode S functionality by inserting modules into the interrogator and activating the corresponding software. The MSSR, combined with Intelcan's modern, flexible ATM system, can meet any aviation customer's requirements.
