Micro Nav Launch Unique 3D Airport Simulation Capabilities At Last Maastricht ATC Show

Micro Nav Ltd

Micro Nav launched their new 3D Airport Builder Tool, Image Generator and Aircraft Model Editor at the last international ATC show in Maastricht.

The suite of software was a major attraction that will revolutionise the convenience and cost of creating 3D visual models for airport simulation and training. Users of the BEST tower simulators can now create and update their 3D models of their airports without the need to employ modelling specialists or third party tools.

These unique visual simulation capabilities have been developed in partnership with Imagine - a company specialising in advanced PC-based graphics.

3D Airport Simulation

The Airport Builder Tool allows users to create and change their own 3D visual models quickly and cheaply. It is very attractive to designers as well as trainers. New airports can be visualised and tested with realistic traffic in a matter of minutes. For the first time designers can present and evaluate the full airport system from layout to ATC operation. Trainers can create new airports and make changes to existing airports achieving large savings in time and costs. The many options facing airport operators can be tried and tested and controllers can be trained using the BEST simulators to save time and money.

The new image generators take advantage of the latest 3D PC graphics technology to give impressive scene features with high dynamic capacities. Micro Nav were showing more than 180 detailed aircraft models flying realistically and passing close overhead in the same window.

Aircraft Model Editor

The Aircraft Model Editor allows users to customise the appearance and behaviour of their high-fidelity 3D models easily themselves. The results can be seen immediately and in the tower simulator scenarios.

Micro Nav have an unbroken 19 year track record of supplying and supporting radar and tower simulators for civil and military agencies around the world.
