Pavilion has been in operation for over twelve years, gaining and using their knowledge to become industry leaders and number one for strength to price ratio.

Pavilion has succeeded in developing buildings which withstand extreme wind and snow loads. Airport International speaks with Pavilion about the capabilities of their temporary fabric covered buildings.

Pavilion specializes in the design and manufacturing of fabric covered buildings that can be used for both permanent and temporary situations. Can you explain the benefits?

Pavilion's method for designing and engineering our buildings site specifically means the customer receives a building that can withstand the complete wind and snow loads in its respective area, anywhere in the world.

Our extensive process allows us to provide a completely portable building, tough enough to last both the test of time and extreme weather conditions. This however, does not affect the customers' flexibility to use the product as a temporary or permanent structure.

The flexibility of Pavilion's temporary fabric covered buildings benefit customers in a number of ways:

  • The building can be disassembled for storage or relocation
  • Tax increases are negated due to the portability of the building and its possible temporary nature
  • Quick turn around times are possible for disassembly and erection
  • There are a variety of options for above ground or below ground anchor/foundations.

Capabilities of Temporary Fabric Covered Buildings

Pavilion creates a variety of different buildings which range greatly in size. Some of the largest include industrial structures such as aircraft hangars and storage facilities. Does size limit the buildings in terms of the environments that can be accommodated?

Size is no object when it comes to a Pavilion building. We can produce up to 300'/93m wide buildings, free of interior supports, in any length you require.

The same great engineering and craftsmanship goes into every one of our buildings, regardless of size. This, along with site specific engineering for wind and snow loads, results in a first class building.

Also available from Pavilion is their SHOPinaBOX series, a revolutionary new range designed for easy transportation and quick deployment. Can you explain why, in some situations, this is more suitable than the larger buildings?

SHOPinaBOX is revolutionary because the smaller structures do not require any sort of foundation. We have incorporated sea/shipping containers into the design of the building eliminating the need for a separate anchor or foundation.

If the land is flat then the building can be erected. This is significantly different from our larger buildings which require some sort of anchoring to act against the huge uplift and lateral forces produced with a free span fabric covered building design.

In regards to the transport and deployment, SHOPinaBOX is unique because everything you need for your building can be transported within the sea containers which act as the foundations. This makes international shipping a breeze and allows for the building to arrive on site with all components completely contained. Sea/shipping containers can be transported by truck, train or helicopter so our buildings can go anywhere the transporter can take them.

Pavilion's larger temporary fabric covered buildings usually freight by truck within North America, anytime we ship our buildings internationally we have to use sea/shipping containers. The design of the SHOPinaBOX negates any extra work to prepare our buildings to ship in a container.

The SHOPinaBOX series advertises itself as having minimal impact on local eco systems. Can you explain how this is achieved?

The SHOPinaBOX does not require any permanent anchoring or foundation, it will not leave anything in the ground when it is taken away, which results in zero environmental footprint.

For customers that require it, we can go the extra mile to provide our cover material as a floor liner which will prevent any hazardous or toxic materials from seeping into the ground, again ensuring no harm comes to the land the SHOPinaBOX is located on.

The SHOPinaBOX also incorporates revolutionary technologies for rubber matting as an alternative to concrete slab and low emission high output power generation allowing for again a minimal environmental impact. In simple words, when the building leaves the location all of its components leave with it so nothing is left behind except the sweet sounds of nature.
