RAMBOLL develops a new system
RAMBØLL
Category: Maintenance Systems
The system has been implemented in Sydney Airport, Vienna Airport, Copenhagen Airport and will be implemented in Lisbon Airport too. Furthermore, several airports in Europe show interest in the system aiming an implementation over the next year.

The system will be implemented very smoothly without any inconvenience, as the offer includes not only the software to a smaller amount but also implementation and support in a longer period. Furthermore, this system includes more than other pavement management systems, for instance project level calculations, very advanced rating system, test visualisation, and a graphical information system including lights, signs, service roads, etc. Moreover, the system will be available in both German and English.
On one hand, the system will structure the every day and give documentation for a rational behaviour to the Technical Director and Board, including optimised alternatives for maintenance and rehabilitation. On the other hand, the system will implement well-defined procedures for inspections, including all files from the construction period.
Head of Department Kurt Bech says, "Airpave Management™ provides systematised maintenance and helps administer very large sums of money for the airports that use the system. The system means that maintenance is done precisely where and when it is needed. Airport maintenance is a very costly affair, so the relatively modest investment represented by Airpave Management™ offers a big potential for savings and is very quickly recouped."
