Remote Message Generation or Airline-Gate-Client

This application is the best guarantee for the automated operation of the daily announcements, without the need of human interference. Furthermore our engineers have developed special remote control features to be used at the gate. This is known as Remote Message Generation or Airline-Gate-Client (HQ Voice over IP)

Database maintenance

There are very few environments, as is the case with airports, where data continuously chance; new destinations appear, airlines are added to the customer base, buildings are renovated and new terminals are being built. All bring about new gate numbers, names, and meeting points.

If an airport wants to secure the operation of an automated artificial voice system, it is very important that the phoneme database is carefully maintained. This will often be very expensive and because of this, in practice only the most important changes and enhancements are made. With an AviaVox system one does not have to bother any longer with database management, because this is an integral part of our services.

Subscription

AviaVox offers a subscription-based service. This has major advantages, such as:

  • Financially attractive
  • A subscription is not an investment!
  • Database maintenance is secured
  • System Software guidance
  • Functional updates
  • Adding of new languages

AviaVox-customers receive good value for money. Every expansion of the phoneme database that supports a generic purpose will be made available for the same subscription rate.

The annual subscription ensures the proper functioning of the complete Artificial Voice System. We continuously monitor the System Software and automatically upgrade the installed software. This is all done without any human interference and is automatically initiated by the airport over encrypted sessions.

The subscription rates differ per airport and are a function of the number of passengers that an airport transports. Hence, despite the size, every airport can make use of an AviaVox system. Our current users transport passengers in a range of 150.000 to 40 million passengers a year.

System flexibility

An AviaVox Speech System is not a rigid system. Our Artificial Speech System is based on the philosophy to follow the announcement-policy of the airport and not vice versa. A London Airport is likely to work differently from a French one and in Spain requirements will be different from those in Sweden.

Our speech system has a large number of easy to use parameter settings, enabling the airport to tune the system such as to generate exactly all those announcements needed by that specific airport.

Obviously these settings need to be implemented only once, during the set-up of the system. The majority, however, will already be pre-configured by default settings. Still, all those can be changed at any time, even after the system has been installed and it turns out that alterations are desirable.

Languages

AviaVox continuously adds new languages to the central database open to all our subscribers. Today we can already offer 14 different languages, e.g.:

Neutral English, UK-English, USA-English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Greek,Portuguese, Arabic, Dutch, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. Many others will follow, such as Turkish.

Our voices are not to be distinguished from a native speaker’s. To ensure that grammar and syntax is absolutely correct, we follow strict procedures to build a new language or to add new phonemes to the central database. Linguists guide this intensive process.

The intelligibility of an announcement at an airport can be further optimised by:

  • Dynamic Speed Adaptation (DSA)
  • Dynamic Volume Adaptation (DVA)
  • Articulation Enhancement

These features can be of great value, for every space has its own characteristics.

Whatever your specific reason would be to consider an AviaVox System, it all starts with the evaluation of your specific needs for an Artificial Voice System and the topology in which it could be embedded.

An efficient announcement system at an airport is definitely the most important communication tool at the airport, for it is the only communication tool where the airport can take the initiative.
