Charity golf day at Hart Common in Bolton generates £5000 for UK's leading MS charity

ESR Technology, one of the UK's leading engineering, safety and risk management consultancies, has helped raise almost £5000 for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society after taking part in a recent charity golf event.

A team of nine golfers from the company participated in the popular event held at the Hart Common Golf Club in Westhoughton, Bolton on Thursday, 18th June. ESR Technology was a main sponsor of the event which aimed to raise money for the Bolton branch of the MS Society.

The MS Society funds research into the disease, runs respite care centres and provides financial assistance, education and training on MS related issues. The Society is committed to bringing high standards of quality health and social care within reach of everyone affected by MS and to encouraging and supporting medical and applied research into its cause and control.

Funds raised during the Golf Day came from entrance fees, sponsorship, donations and a raffle.

"With the event now in its third year, a record number of golfers helped to raise our largest donation yet for the MS Society, "said Dr John Beard, one of ESR Technology's Principal Engineering Consultants and organiser of the company's Golf Society. "I'd like to thank everyone who took part in such an enjoyable day in support of a very worthwhile cause."
