New Order
AIS has celebrated the start of its eighteenth year in the airport business with an order from Oxford Airport for the Airport Landing Dues Information System (ALDIS 2000) and Cash and Fuel Invoicing, part of the AFIDS 2001 suite of programs.
Oxford Airport ordered the systems after being impressed by the systems in operation at Gloucestershire Airport.
Commented Rick Gould, managing director of AIS, "The Oxford Airport order now gives AIS a clean sweep of the major training airports in the UK. The other airports are Coventry, Cranfield and Gloucestershire."
Cranfield Airport
Cranfield Airport has ordered an upgrade to ALDIS 2000. The upgraded system will be run on a MS 2003 virtual server which will replace the current Micro Vax 3100 System. This was the last Open VMS system running ALDIS. AIS software is still supported under Open VMS.
TFT LCD Displays
AIS can now supply a whole range of TFT LCD displays. Starting at 32 inches rising up to 65 inches. The 65 inch display has a resolution up to 1920 x 1080 in a 16:9 format.
Guernsey Airport
Security Sentinel, the web and kiosk boarding card reader system has been upgraded at the airport.
Aurigny, Blue Island and FlyBE are using web boarding or kiosk boarding passes.
Security Sentinel fully meets the DfT's requirements and reads both 2D and 3D.
Cash and Fuel Invoicing System
Blackpool Airport
Blackpool Airport have installed the Cash and Fuel Invoicing System.
Gloucestershire Airport
The Cash and fuel System has been installed at Gloucestershire Airport.
ALDIS User Group
Exeter Airport hosted the 2007 AUG. The 2008 ALDIS USER GROUP will be held in early October at the Novotel off junction 25 of the M1 motorway. Both the CAA and NATS will attend.
Glasgow Prestwick Airport
An XML version of the FIDS upload data has been installed to cater for the new ITV digital.
PRM Handling
Cardiff and Exeter Airports have ordered an upgrade to ALDIS 2000 to handle the new PRM Handling charge which comes into effect in July 2008.
Flight Information Display Systems
Jersey Airport
Jersey Airport commissioned AIS to review their current flight information display system and to recommend any changes that should be made to it.
Ink Aviation
AIS has formed a partnership with Ink Aviation to jointly market each-other's products. Ink Aviation supply a web based CUTE Departure Control System (DCS) and a weight and balance system.
AIS's AFIDS 2001 will be interfaced to the Ink Aviation systems so that passenger and freight information can be shared along with SITA messages updating the flight information displays. AIS and Ink Aviaion have a number of joint tenders being evaluated.
Highland and Islands
H & I will test to see if their remote airports can run in a client server configuration, where the server will be located.
