ACI is the international association of the worlds' airports. It is a non profit organisation, the prime purpose of which is to advance the interests of airports and to promote professional excellence in airport management and operations.
By fostering cooperation among its member airports and with other partners in world aviation, including other international organisations, governments, airlines and aircraft manufacturers, ACI makes a significant contribution to providing the traveling public with an airport system that is safe, secure, efficient and environmentally compatible.
ACI has observer status with ICAO and consultative status with the United Nations' Economic and Social Council (UN/ECOSOC). The collective positions of ACI's membership are established through five World Standing Committees and endorsed by the ACI Governing Board.
ACI's membership is divided in six regions, Africa , Asia , Europe , Latin America and Caribbean, North America and Pacific , and assisted by six regional offices. The organisation is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland with an ICAO office in Montreal.
ACI has 557 airport members operating over 1530 airports in 175 countries and territories. In 2004, ACI members handled 3.9 billion passengers, 78.7 million metric tones of freight, and 69.4 million aircraft movements.
